Well this is where I'll post pics and stuff to do with my newly re-awakened bow building bug.



This is a pic of the early stages of tillering my first laminated bow. The materials are bamboo for the back, over a core of Tassie Oak, with the belly being another layer of bamboo. I'm a little unsure of how to proceed with the tillering of this bow as the limbs are of unequal length with the lower being 2" shorter than the top limb when measured from the center of the grip. This difference will be reduced a bit when the bow is nearly finished. As it stands the difference in bend is @20mm (bit over 3/4") and the draw weight to draw the bow to 12" is 24 lbs. I'm aiming for 50 to 55 lbs for a finished draw weight at 28" of draw length. The current total bow length is 72" I want to cut this down to 69" or 70" when the bow is finished. Anyway that's wheree I'm at for now.
